Distance Learning Update

April 23, 2020

Dear AS²A Families,

Today it was announced that Rhode Island would join 39 other states in extending distance learning to this school year’s end on June 12, 2020. This action continues to follow CDC mandates in continuing distance learning to keep us safe.

At All Saints STEAM Academy, every family has embraced distance learning, and in collaboration with the dedicated faculty, have continued student learning at home. On May 8, midterm progress reports will be published online. We ask that you review these together, and applaud the fine efforts for the work completed. If there are areas for improvement, you have the second half of this trimester until  the final report card to improve.

As much as we can celebrate all that we have achieved with technology to transition from school to our safe home base, we also have to acknowledge the losses of not sharing this year’s final trimester together. At All Saints, students and parents shared in a daily communication, through birthdays and fundraisers, and field trips and holy days. We greeted each other and remembered each other’s history.

So the challenge now is how to mark this year for our memories. I invite you to share with me ideas you may have for the year’s ending, remembering that social distancing mandates we stay safely apart. I look forward to hearing from you!

I pray that you are taking good care of precious YOU.

I pray that your loved ones are safe and well.

I pray that you are feeling our togetherness- we are here for each other. An email, a text, a phone call, a wave from a safe distance – we are together in these weeks ahead.

Let’s smile about that!

Be well and be blessed,
Anita Brouse
