HAPPY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK! This week we recognize and celebrate the students, parents, volunteers, and community members who make up the All Saints STEAM Academy family. We are so fortunate to teach and learn in a supportive environment that encourages and nurtures prayer. The blessing of Catholic schools would not be possible without the deepest level of commitment from our parents, teachers and staff, volunteers, local churches, and broader communities. Thank you for entrusting us to partner with you in the faith formation and academic development of your children.
Unfortunately, the cold has been keeping us indoors for recess, but students have enjoyed the opportunity to learn and play board games. Read-a-thon fundraiser money has been allocated to indoor recess games and activities to continue the fun!
The excitement is building for Catholic Schools Week. Students are busy researching for their History Night at the Museum projects. Mark your calendars for Thursday, February 1st at 6:00. All students and families are invited to attend. Don’t miss the fun!
Happy New Year! Classrooms are alive with talk of new beginnings and resolutions. Let’s all promise to welcome this new year with a happy spirit and encourage each other to share kind messages with our classmates, read more often, listen well to our teachers, and see the good in others!
Wow! Wow! Wow! International Christian recording artist, Ryan Tremblay performed an amazing, uplifting concert on Tuesday night! Students and families were dancing in the aisles of St. Lucy Church and our own AS²A singers made us so proud singing Glow in the Dark and Silent Night. Their angelic voices contributed to the magic of the Advent season…there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. We look forward to more opportunities to host Ryan Tremblay in the future!
Thank you AGAIN to our amazing PTO officers, Tammy Fink and Jackie Healy, for organizing a fabulous Breakfast with Santa! A winter wonderland greeted guests as they entered and children were all smiles as they gobbled down their pancake breakfast in anticipation of sharing their Christmas wishes with Santa. Thank you also to Miss Dawn for transforming her classroom to a cozy space for chatting with Santa and lovely photos! The joy was palpable and was a great way to start the Christmas season!
The Read-a-thon mascot, Colby, is popping up…all around the school! Students have been challenged to count how many times they see Colby around the hallways, lobby, or multipurpose room. They will submit their guess and a name will be drawn to win a Barnes and Noble gift card. Let’s keep the love of reading going!
Happy Veterans Day! Our hallways are lined with photos and pictures of the veterans close to our hearts. Yesterday, we celebrated our veterans with a prayer service and recognized our students of military families who so enrich our school community. Even though our military families are here for a short time, we enjoy the friendships we share with you and the energy and spirit you bring to our AS²A family. Each student received a poppy pin at the end of our service as a symbol of our support and gratitude for our veterans. This pin may be worn every day as a part of the uniform. Please encourage your students to proudly support our military families!
On Wednesday we celebrated our feast day, All Saints Day. We enjoyed a lovely mass with Father Codega and the parishioners of St. Lucy’s Church. Classes celebrated with activities and learning focused on the saints, those holy people we try to emulate every day. Each day we pray to find inspiration in not just our official saints, but also those who strive to live saintly lives. Thank you to those who joined us to celebrate Mass.
Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating and Trunk or Treat has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 28, 1-3 p.m. Please use this new Sign Up Genius for next weekend's event:
It was so wonderful to hear the start of band practices this week! We heard a symphony of trombones, saxophones, clarinets, drums, and bells to name a few! We are looking forward to an amazing Christmas concert that will be here before we know it!
Happy October! Science has discovered orange is the only color that does not disappear or fade into the atmosphere. It is always with us, just as God is always with us. Look around and take notice of the color orange all around you this month!
We had an outstanding opening week of school! Our building is bursting with smiles and happy chatter. Even those students who may have tip-toed in a bit timid and unsure, are now doing happy dances in the halls. The positive energy and enthusiasm in our halls are contagious and we look forward to a year of faith, fun learning, and community.
We hope this letter finds you in good health and basking in the fun and relaxation of a beautiful summer season. All Saints has been abuzz with activity throughout the summer break as we gear up for the new academic year filled with boundless possibilities.
A Dad rang the doorbell this Monday morning to return his daughter’s uniforms. Sadly, he and his family are one of our many military families who must move on to another duty station. As he said his final goodbye, he left us with this message, “You have a really special school here. We will miss it.”
Our band may be small, but it is mighty! On Monday, the “standing room only” audience enjoyed the harmonious sounds of our very talented musicians. We thank Jen Hawes for her direction and hope more students were inspired to join the fun as we look forward to an even bigger band next year!
Field Day was a HUGE SUCCESS! Students of all ages were heard saying, “It was the best day of the whole year!” From tossing bean bags, to tug of war, to three-legged races…fun times were had by all. Thank you again to our amazing PTO Board for planning the best Field Day ever. Thank you, also, to the MANY parent volunteers - without you this fun day would not have been possible.
STEAM night was another successful event! Students loved presenting their experiments and learning to parents and friends. Our smallest scientists shared their experiments. Preschool students learned how plants drink water and Pre-K students tested how eggs react to different solutions as they awaited the hatching of their chicks
What a wonderful wacky Walkathon we had! Thank you to our amazing PTO board for planning another wildly successful event! Students, teachers, and parents enjoyed walking the campus together to raise money for All Saints Academy. Students got a kick out of earning necklaces and bracelets with each lap and running through the bubble machine to celebrate reaching the finish line!
We are so grateful for the many “Thank you” messages shared with our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. Your emails and handwritten notes were very thoughtful and meant a great deal to our teachers.
