Dear AS²A Families,
This Holy Thursday, students finished Lenten lessons and projects as they prepared to celebrate Easter with family and friends. Our daily reading focused on Jesus washing the feet of the apostles as a demonstration of God’s humble love. Through this action, Jesus asks his disciples, and through them, all of us, to take care of others as he has taken care of them. His wish was that their love for Jesus would naturally spill over into wanting to be like him in caring for others. May your Easter gatherings be a celebration of Jesus’ unending love and care for all of us and our call to serve and help others.
Speaking of serving and caring for others, a huge thank you to the PTO board and the many volunteers who created a lovely Breakfast with the Bunny! A great time was had by all who enjoyed the delicious breakfast provided by IHOP and Dunkin Donuts. The generous donations from PEAK Event Services as well as the lovely Easter Lily shared by the Pickard-Smith family added to the beautifully festive atmosphere. The gloomy weather did not hamper the spirits of the many who hunted through classrooms for easter eggs. Another amazing day of community fun!
We continue our good news with the birth announcements of our newest AS²A family members!
The Eder family welcomed Joseph Michael Eder on February 9. His siblings Leo in grade 6 and Vera in grade 3, and George, age 2 were thrilled to meet him!
Nicholas Mennerich was born to Anna and Thomas Mennerich on April 4. Michelle in grade 1 and Peter in Preschool enjoy hugging him and playing with him. Michelle reports that “he is so tiny”. Welcome to the world, little ones!
We are also pleased to welcome Senora Lisa Garcia to the All Saints Academy faculty. Senora Garcia began Spanish classes with the students this week and has enjoyed getting to know the children.
Has your student signed up to participate in School Spirit Week? This week of fun, sponsored by Student Council, runs Monday, April 24 through Friday, April 28. Each day of the week celebrates a different theme with an opportunity for students to dress according to the theme. To join the fun, please complete the School Spirit Week form and send it back to school with the appropriate money.
Important Policy Reminder: Students are not permitted to carry any medication, including over-the-counter medications, to school either on their person or in their backpack. As stated in our Student Handbook, only a parent may administer medication to a student during the school day as All Saints Academy does not have a school nurse on duty. While exceptions are made for circumstances requiring an epi-pen or inhaler, the general medication policy is in place for the safety of all students. Please review this policy with your student(s).
