STEAM night was another successful event! Students loved presenting their experiments and learning to parents and friends. Our smallest scientists shared their experiments. Preschool students learned how plants drink water and Pre-K students tested how eggs react to different solutions as they awaited the hatching of their chicks. Our expert Kindergarten programmers taught their parents about Scratch Jr. block-based coding and shared their butterfly life cycle animations while the First and Second graders used Scratch coding to create stories about the life cycle of a chicken and Plant Comic story scenes. Third graders studied advertising strategies and created Stop Motion animation in an effort to sell their audience on protecting the waterways, while Fourth graders taught us about the worst oil spills in history and invited the audience to try their hand at cleaning up the spills. Fifth grade actors presented their original “Sneetches on Beaches” play along with their artistic illustrations of their favorite scene from The Sneetches using Scratch coding. Meanwhile, in Middle School, student engineers teamed up to create factories using lessons learned this year. Students presented lessons and Try Me Stations in Pixlr graphics, hydroponics, vinyl cutter and heat press printing, circuitry, 3D printing and design, Makey-Makey programming, gaming character design, laser cutting, and Google Slide design tools. STEAM Night is an annual event so if you missed it this year, make sure to put it on the calendar for next May!
Congratulations to the Breen family on the birth of their daughter, Lillian Mae. Eleanor in Preschool is so excited to “help feed” her new baby sister. Welcome to the world, sweet girl, may God bless you and your family always!

Did you know?
Sunday, May 28 was Pentecost Sunday, also known as the birthday of the Church. On this day, the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles and gifted them with the understanding, counsel, fortitude, wisdom, piety, fear of the Lord, and knowledge they would need to continue spreading the good news on earth. Happy Birthday!
