Our school community is busy researching the 108 saints on the front lobby display. This beautiful work, divided into three time periods of Early church, Medieval time, and Present Day, took the summer efforts of Ms. Dawn to research, print, and display these faith leaders. Our feast day is Sunday, November 1, the Feast of All Saints. On Monday, November 2, the class with the most accurate and complete list of saints names will win an ice cream party! Sweet success!
This coming Friday, October 30, all students will enjoy a dress out day to get into the spirit of hallowed eve- Halloween! This is the day before our school feast day – All Saints Day on Sunday, November 1. Students may dress in black and/or orange, with a seasonal printed face mask. NO costumes or costume masks are part of the dress out. The teachers will be communicating their party needs to you to support the fun in each classroom. Please remember to make safe choices on Halloween, many communities are finding unique ways to celebrate safely!
It is the mid-term of the first trimester, and you will be receiving progress reports on Monday, November 2. Each team will be communicating your student’s work efforts through email, so watch for how this will be done in place of in person conferencing this year. The students will be reflecting on their efforts, successes and challenges, and this is an opportune time to talk with them about how they are experiencing their school life this year. We know that the social and emotional learning of our students is vital in helping well rounded students achieve and grow.
