Dear Parents,
On this last school day of February, the excitement over the 100 days of school on a sunny Friday can be heard throughout the classrooms! The warm sun beckons our recess and gym classes outside, and the fresh air and friendships have even our tallest eighth-grade boys skipping rope with their peers! Ah, Childhood!
Lent began on Ash Wednesday while we were on winter break. When the students returned, they hear the daily Gospel readings on forgiveness and change. Our thoughts, words, and actions can make this world a better place for everyone, and our students are encouraged to treat others with compassion and kindness. They are counting the forty days until Easter with fasting from negativity and feasting on good deeds. I have seen a great improvement in the greetings and good wishes from our students on the bad weather days when I greet them at the front door. It is a positive way to start our day by sending good thoughts to others!
We encourage you to share our good news with your friends, as our re-enrollment process has reached almost 100%! That means our classes are fast filling up- so if you want $500 waived from your tuition bill, get a family to visit us and sign up referring to you! We do give separate tours after school hours for families who would like to visit a classroom and speak with the teacher.
AS²A is a member of the Middletown Prevention Coalition and they sponsor March Wellness Month, you will see our purple around the campus as the wellness month sign. The focus of the MPC is to encourage students to make healthy choices in their lives. You have received flyers detailing the fun wellness activities that you are invited to join this month. The Wellness walk, which can be recorded on your phone app-Map My Walk, includes All Saints as well as the other Middletown school campuses. Please read through all of the activities offered, and join in the fun! Let’s get AS²A on the map for healthy wellness choices!
Please continue to read with your student, anything and everything. Road signs, children’s books, food packages, and directions are all opportunities for our growing learners. It is fact that the more children are engaged in literacy, the greater their comprehension, vocabulary, and writing skills develop. Remember- Readers become Leaders! And- YOU are the Author of your own Life story! See you at the library!
God bless you,
Mrs. Brouse
