Dear AS²A Families,
As we walk through the halls and classrooms of All Saints, we are greeted with a flurry of November-themed activities that reflect the exceptional creativity and ingenuity of our amazing staff and students. We are truly blessed!
PreK and Preschool students have been full of questions regarding the Mayflower voyage and the settlement of the English Pilgrims. We have been thankful for Native Americans, such as Squanto for his help and friendship. On Monday, we will celebrate a Thanksgiving Feast to kick off our holiday! Gobble Gobble!
For the November STEAM Challenge, Kindergarten students were tasked to create a ship that would float, carry “pilgrims”, and move through the water when blown by the wind! These young engineers were up for the challenge and built ships that met all the requirements during their “sea trials”! Great teamwork, Kindergarten!
Got journals? Our First graders are crazy with excitement about their new daily writing journals. These young authors cannot wait to get started each day to perfect their skills!
As we near Thanksgiving, Second grade was spotted working on a creation spiral project to show gratitude for God’s wonderful gift of creation.
The Elementary team hallway is alight with Saint candles! Third graders researched saints and created lovely candle art and prayers as a symbol of how the saints light our way.
Fourth graders can put in a call to their saint of choice, using their saintly cell phone creations, and the Fifth-grade student's composed saint essays and created holy saint shrines.
Grades 4-8 enjoyed a long-awaited field trip to Plimoth Plantation. Students were amazed at how simple life used to be and how hard people worked to survive daily life. There was no time for video games when you had to harvest crops, cook and can your food for long winters, hull out trees for canoes, and dry animal skins for cold weather blankets and clothing!
Did you know AS²A recently acquired a Glowforge+ Laser Cutter for the Tech Lab? Our Middle School students wasted no time learning how to use this new technology. They designed a saint keychain and programmed the cutter to etch and cut it from maple wood. Looped to their backpack, the saintly creations inspire them to emulate the saints every day.
The PTO is planning a wonderful Christmas event for our school community…. Breakfast with Santa will be held on Saturday, December 10. This event is an ASA tradition and tickets sell out quickly. Mark your calendar now and keep an eye out for the flyer coming home soon in your child’s backpack.
