The first days of school have been so much fun! The quiet summer hallways of AS²A were once again filled with the joyful sounds of students reuniting with old friends and eagerly making new ones. It was truly heartwarming to see so many smiling faces as our students returned to school excited for another year of shared faith, growth, and learning!
Thank you to our dedicated PTO officers, Tammy Fink and Jaqueline Healy, for sprinkling our school with beautiful Back to School balloons, yard signs and banners! Their efforts created a fun and welcoming atmosphere that helped our students feel even more excited about returning to school.
CONGRATULATIONS to 8th grader Ava Wiggins who was named the Potter League Volunteer of the Month. Ava was awarded the honor for “going above and beyond” in her efforts to help with the program’s summer camp. The program director noted how Ava’s “hard work and enthusiasm….truly made a difference”! We are so proud of you, Ava, for living your faith through service to your community.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Please join us on Wednesday, September 4th, 5:30 - 6:30 for our annual Ice Cream Social. Indulge in a sweet summer treat as you meet new families and reconnect with old friends. We hope to see you there!
To our families who use the Car Rider dismissal line…THANK YOU for your patience as we learn cars and families. The line was very long this week as several towns have not yet started their bus service. A few notes to help us:
Holding your tag up for Mrs. Villareal or Miss Dawn is a huge help that allows us to call the students to cars much more efficiently
As bus service begins next week, please remember our buses have the right of way - do not try to pass a bus
Also, help us keep everyone safe by staying in line and waiting for the cars in front of you to move forward. Do not swerve out of line to pass another car. Your patience will ensure the safety of all!
If you need to make a change to your child’s dismissal plan, call the office by 2:30 to ensure the message gets delivered to the teacher and student. Any calls received as we prepare for dismissal will go to voicemail and messages will be returned when the car rider/bus line is finished. Also, if your child is dismissing early, you must retrieve him/her before 2:30. Thank you for helping us facilitate a smooth and safe dismissal.
Ms. Carpenter is working tirelessly to organize forms, information, and permissions. Please be sure you have submitted the Health Concerns and Emergency Contact forms to the front office and that you have signed the online Policy Signature Form.
Our Extended Day program is up and running! Thank you to the dedicated teachers and staff who make this service possible and affordable. Billing statements are issued at the beginning of each week and will come home with your child. Payment is due upon receipt of statement. A convenient online payment option is located under the Parents tab on the ASA website.

Did you know?
In 1971, the Catholic parishes of Aquidneck Island, in an effort to keep Catholic education a viable choice for parents in their parishes, voted to consolidate the existing parish schools into one regional Catholic School to serve the needs of Newport County. The corporation members included St. Anthony, St. Augustin, St. Barnabas, St. Joseph, St. Lucy, and St. Mary.
