Dear AS²A Families,
If you are a sports fan, or live with one, you may have seen the College Football Championship game on Monday night pitting the University of Georgia Bulldogs against the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs. The “Dawgs'' prevailed thanks to the help of offensive lineman and ASA alumnus, Xavier Truss, #73. Xavier visited AS²A in May of 2022 and was incredibly kind and patient answering the many questions from the awe-struck students. He shared the highs and lows of his journey in becoming a successful collegiate athlete. When asked what he learned along the way, he said with absolute conviction, "Hold on to your faith, it will get you through the struggles." It was great to have such an amazing role model and example of a strong Catholic school journey share the value of a faith filled life with our students!
Unfortunately, the weather has not been cooperating with plans to be outside for PE classes, but Dr. Manley is making the best of the indoor space. We thank her for being creative and adaptive in providing fun and educational activities for all students.
Plans are well underway for an exciting and celebratory Catholic Schools Week (January 29 - February 4). You may have already seen the permission slip inviting students in Grades 4-8 to participate as statues in History Night at the Museum. We are thrilled to have so many 4th-8th graders joining the fun. Stay tuned for more information about this annual celebration!
