Dear AS²A Families,
What a wonderful wacky Walkathon we had! Thank you to our amazing PTO board for planning another wildly successful event! Students, teachers, and parents enjoyed walking the campus together to raise money for All Saints Academy. Students got a kick out of earning necklaces and bracelets with each lap and running through the bubble machine to celebrate reaching the finish line!
Did you know the ocean has rights? As stewards of God’s creation, our students learn how to care for and protect the rights of our beaches and oceans. This week we explored more about that awesome responsibility with field trips to Save the Bay at Easton’s Beach and the Ocean Live Park in Newport. Students in grades K-8 enjoyed interactive demonstrations, a stage show, a video immersion experience and to top it all off, it was the first time on a bus for many of our youngest students!
While the older students were busy at Fort Adams, Wednesday was a big day for the Preschool Team, too! Preschool and PreK students were busy building boats during Innovation Day! Having the school to themselves for a few hours allowed them to design, tinker, create and innovate boats in each classroom. They learned boat language, etiquette, and what each part of the boat does to stay afloat. They even filled the kiddie pools with water, christened the SS Everything, and set sail!
As a school community we celebrated Ascension Thursday with Mass at St. Lucy’s Church. Visiting priest, Father O’Neill, loves when the children come to mass and taught them all about the first Novena prayed while the disciples waited for the coming of the Holy Spirit.
Students are having fun preparing for STEAM Night this week! Join us on Thursday May 25th, 5:30- 7:00 pm to experience STEAM integration in action! Plays, STEAM Challenges, and Try Me stations are ready for you - don’t miss this fun night - see how AS²A brings STEAM to life in the classroom.
The halls are alive with the sounds of music! Our musicians are looking forward to sharing their talents at the Band Concert on Thursday, June 1 at 1:30pm. We look forward to seeing our band member families!
Field Day is coming up on June 2. Our PTO Board has put their heads together once again for an exciting fun-filled day for students. Look for Sign Up Genius information soon as there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer! Remember, all volunteers must complete the background check process. See Anne Klegraefe for that information.

Rhode Island is nicknamed the Ocean State because it has more than 400 miles of coastline. Everyone in the state lives within a half-hour drive to the sea!
