Dear AS²A Families,
We had an outstanding opening week of school! Our building is bursting with smiles and happy chatter. Even those students who may have tip-toed in a bit timid and unsure, are now doing happy dances in the halls. The positive energy and enthusiasm in our halls are contagious and we look forward to a year of faith, fun learning, and community.
We would like to thank our dedicated PTO officers, Tammy Fink and Jaqueline Healy, for sprinkling our school with beautiful Back to School decorations. Their efforts created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that helped our students feel right at home.
Thank you to all our families who use the Car Rider dismissal line for your patience as we learn cars and families. Holding your tag up for Mrs. Villareal is a huge help and helps her call the students to cars much more efficiently. Please remember that our buses have the right of way - do not try to pass a bus. Also, when arriving at school, remember to access the school drive to the left of St. Lucy’s church. Do not pass between the church and the rectory.
If you need to make a change to your child’s dismissal plan, call by 2:30 to ensure the message is delivered to the teacher. Any calls received during dismissal will go to voicemail and messages will be returned when the car ride/bus line is finished. Also, if your child is dismissing early, you must retrieve him/her before 2:30.
Mrs. Klegraefe works tirelessly to organize forms, information, and permissions. Check your child’s folder daily for notices and forms. Please make sure you have everything turned in to the front office. If you have not yet turned in the Emergency Contact and Health Issues forms please do so Tuesday. See attachments.
Extended Day Use - Our extended day program is up and running! Thank you to the staff members who make this service possible and affordable. Statements are issued at the beginning of the week and will come home with your child. Payment is due upon receipt of the statement. Pay online is available.

In 1971, the Catholic parishes of Aquidneck Island, in an effort to keep Catholic education a viable choice for parents in their parishes, voted to consolidate the existing parish schools into one regional Catholic School to serve the needs of Newport County. The corporation members included St. Anthony, St. Augustin, St. Barnabas, St. Joseph, St. Lucy, and St. Mary.
