Dear Parents,
Every morning, our students hear about the history of our faith leaders whose courage was shown in their kind acts of compassion for others. This morning, our Eighth Grade Student Council candidates will share their ideas for our school community as they present their speeches on zoom to the second through eighth grades. We are proud that our students live our school Mission statement to act with wisdom, compassion and leadership. Each grade will elect two representatives to share their thoughts on the Student Council this year. We applaud these students who generously give their time and talents to make ASA the wonderful school community that it is!
Please remember that this Monday, October 19, is a professional day for the faculty. There will be NO SCHOOL for our students. Rather, they will be expected to complete assigned work due on Tuesday when they return. We thank you for your support and encouragement of your students. The growth mindset is so important in fostering resilient children. Share with them your pride and belief in their ability to work hard, and to find another way to solve problems when a challenge arises. Innovation is a hallmark of a successful student.
Monday is also our first virtual school fundraiser with Chipotle’s in Middletown! Remember to order between 4-8 pm that evening using the ASA school code, and to go pick up your order! YUM! We will send you a reminder flyer today to post at home! Thank you in advance!
As we end week five of in person learning, it should become a daily habit to complete the attestation survey, to have your student with two masks, and to remind them to stay six feet apart. Do not let up your efforts to ensure these safe practices every day. The data shows that new virus cases are coming from small group gatherings, so be careful in your choice of actions outside of school. Thank you in advance!
On October 30, classes will host their separate Halloween parties. Teachers will be contacting you about sending in store bought, wrapped treats. No homemade treats or treat bags can be shared. Thank you!
On November 2, classes will be led in prayer and Saint reflections in celebration of our November 1 All Saints Feast Day. We are all saints in the making as we lead our lives with courage, compassion and kindness.
God bless you,
Mrs. Brouse
