Dear AS²A Families,
We began the week with an all-school Advent prayer service in the lobby. Surrounding the Advent wreath, we heard readings about hope and light presented by the 8th graders. Lighting the first candle of the season, all students focused their prayers and thoughts on preparing their hearts for the coming of Jesus by sharing acts of kindness with their classmates.
Continuing the celebration of the season, Fr. Frank O’Loughlin will join us for an Advent Mass for students only in the multi-purpose room on Monday, December 12th. Although we would love to share the occasion, because of space restrictions, there will be no room “at the inn” for guests at this mass.
Family and friends are welcome to join our annual Living Nativity on Tuesday, December 20th at 6:00pm at St. Lucy’s Church. Gather with the AS²A community as our students participate in the annual tradition bringing the nativity and the true meaning of the Christmas season to all. This is a beautiful evening of reflection and song, which we often refer to as our first gift of Christmas. Permission slips for student participation should be returned to the office by Monday, December 5th.
Your child’s efforts at AS²A are rewarded with a report card on December 7th. Report cards will be distributed in hard copy form and will be published digitally via SchoolSpeak. Please check your access to SchoolSpeak soon so you may view and sign the digital version.
The Scholastic Book Fair arrived! Crates of books were delivered today in preparation for the Scholastic Book Fair next week. Students will be given an opportunity to browse, shop, and make a “Wish List” next Friday when we open our event. Volunteers will be available to assist shoppers during the Breakfast With Santa hours. It’s a great chance to get a few items for under the tree!
Breakfast with Santa reservations are flooding into the office. This event is truly a family favorite and promises to be a great morning of fun. All reservations are due no later than Monday, December 5th.
Each year our friends at the Knights of Columbus hold a Christmas Clothing Drive for the needy and homeless. We will have donation boxes in our lobby to assist them with their efforts. New and gently used winter clothing for men, women, and children is needed. Drop items off with us and we will take care of the delivery.
Have you followed us yet on our social media channels? When we share your students’ achievements, it helps other families who are searching for the best elementary and middle school journey for their children discover All Saints STEAM Academy.
