Happy Hallowed Eve, Parents! We hope your celebration at October’s end is fun for the family! Please remember to stay safe as you and your costumed ones enjoy this time together! When we return on Monday, we will move through the day with special prayers from the Breviary. We will also be sharing the Saints names from the front lobby display to see the class with the most identifications! Ice cream treat coming up!
Our school community is busy researching the 108 saints on the front lobby display. This beautiful work, divided into three time periods of Early church, Medieval time, and Present Day, took the summer efforts of Ms. Dawn to research, print, and display these faith leaders. Our feast day is Sunday, November 1, the Feast of All Saints. On Monday, November 2, the class with the most accurate and complete list of saints names will win an ice cream party! Sweet success!
The picture retake day is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11. Pictures will be taken off site at Jennifer Carter Photography, 71 Pelham St, Newport. You can sign up on the link below to come for an appointment. If you have questions text Jennifer Carter at 401-837-0554.
Monday, October 19, is your night off from cooking. Order your family's meal online from Chipotle, located at 11 East Main Road, between 4:00 – 8:00pm and mention All Saints STEAM Academy. Use promo code 2MCZMWH and All Saints will receive a portion of the proceeds of your order. It’s that easy! It’s a win win. You take the night off and help All Saints at the same time. Enjoy!
Every morning, our students hear about the history of our faith leaders whose courage was shown in their kind acts of compassion for others. This morning, our Eighth Grade Student Council candidates will share their ideas for our school community as they present their speeches on zoom to the second through eighth grades. We are proud that our students live our school Mission statement to act with wisdom, compassion and leadership. Each grade will elect two representatives to share their thoughts on the Student Council this year. We applaud these students who generously give their time and talents to make ASA the wonderful school community that it is!
Dear All Saints STEAM Academy families, Here are a few ways you can help All Saints STEAM Academy earn money through products you purchase or by shopping at Clements Marketplace and Stop & Shop. In the past we have used the money redeemed from these programs to buy supplies for our classrooms.
As we move closer to our school's feast day on November 1, the students are reminded of the courage of the men and women who have become saints in our Catholic faith. They were like many in our communities- workers and leaders alongside their neighbors. What defines them as saintly are the ways in which they thought of others before themselves. Our students learn to show in action and word the respect and consideration they have for their fellow classmates and teachers.
We are now in October! This month is a special devotion to Mary, the Mother of God. We say the Hail Mary prayer in her honor, to ask her help in all that we do for our families and others in the community. We pray for all those in our lives who sacrifice for us. Thank you for your sacrifice in providing your children with the wonderful All Saints STEAM Academy education. This will be the strong start to their future dreams!
